A Royal Oak man reportedly found slumped over the wheel of a damaged pick-up truck in Troy was found to be drunk, police said, and cited for operating while intoxicated.
According to the Troy Police Department, the officers spotted a 2025 GMC Sierra with its hazard lights on at around 3:50 a.m. on Feb. 6, parked in a lot on Investment Drive. The vehicle had two flat tires and heavy crash damage, police said.
The driver, age 37, showed signs of being drunk, including poor performance on sobriety evaluations, police said.
He was arrested and transported to the Troy lock-up facility where he agreed to submit to a chemical breath test. His blood-alcohol concentration was measured at .167% — double the legal limit for drivers, police said.
