A 38-year-old Clarkston man is facing felony charges after allegedly offering to pay a teen girl for sex.
Thomas Mellick Hensler is accused of leaving an explicit note with the offer on a 17-year-old girl’s car parked outside the Target store in Auburn Hills, which the girl reported to police. Police texted the number on the note and reportedly tracked it to Hensler who was parked nearby, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Methamphetamine and sex toys were reportedly found in Hensler’s car, the prosecutor’s office said.

Prosecutor Karen McDonald said, according to Auburn Hills police, several parents have reported their kids have found similar notes on their cars with the same phone number. She urges parents to report such incidents to police.
Hensler is charged with child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime and possession of methamphetamine. He was arraigned on March 20 in 52-3 District Court, where bond was set at $25,000.
Child sexually abusive activity carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and/or a $100,000 fine, and using a computer to commit a crime is punishable by up to 20 additional years in prison beyond the underlying crime. Possession of methamphetamine is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and/or a $15,000 fine.
Hensler was booked into the Oakland County Jail on Tuesday night, shortly before midnight. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 27 for a probable cause conference. A preliminary exam is scheduled for April 3.
