A driver who passed out behind the wheel after vomiting outside her vehicle along I-75 in Troy recently — then refused a preliminary breath test offered by officers at the scene — was intoxicated based on a chemical breath test which she agreed to after being arrested, police said.
The driver, a 41-year-old Waterford Township woman, was reportedly found slumped over in a white SUV stopped on the shoulder of northbound I-75 near Big Beaver Road at around 2:20 a.m. on Feb. 23, police said.
Officers saw vomit directly outside the driver’s door, woke her up and noted she had glassy eyes and other indicators of being drunk, police said.
The chemical breath test conducted at the Troy police lock-up facility reportedly measured her blood alcohol content at .206 percent, more than twice the legal limit. Citations for operating while intoxicated and PBT refusal were issued.
Arraignment is pending.
