Several hundreds of dollars in merchandise was reported stolen from two Bloomfield Township stores in separate incidents recently. The cases are reportedly under investigation, and no arrests have been made yet.

According to police, one of the retail frauds happened mid-afternoon on March 13 at Dick’s Sporting Goods on Telegraph Road. A suspect described as a white female reportedly stole approximately $520 in women’s apparel — walking out of the store’s front entrance with a cart filled with merchandise and then fleeing the parking lot in a black Chevrolet Malibu, police said. She was wearing a black Adidas T-shirt and matching black pants at the time, police said.

The other case happened at the Ulta store on Telegraph Road — also on March 13 — shortly before 7 p.m. The suspect is described as a black woman, approximately 25 to 30 years old, who stole $534 in merchandise including women’s fragrances and a digital straightening iron. She walked out of the store’s front entrance with the stolen items in a basket, police said, and then fled the scene in a gray hatchback-style vehicle. She was wearing a black sweatshirt and black leggings at the time, police said.

Anyone with further information on either incident is asked to call the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
