A Mount Morris man accused of firing a gun at a woman as she drove along I-75 in Groveland Township will face a judge in Oakland County Circuit Court for possible trial.
At a hearing this week in 52-2 District Court, Judge Joseph Fabrizio advanced the case against Thomas Trim after the 24-year-old waived his right to a preliminary exam.
Trim is charged with felonious assault and discharge of a weapon from a vehicle for the alleged Feb. 22 incident on the freeway, near Grange Hall Road.
According to police, the alleged victim said a motorist, later identified as Trim, had been driving aggressively, passing on the shoulder and thn attempted to force her off the roadway before pointing a gun at her. As the woman slowed down and called 911, Trim allegedly shot at her through the open passenger window, drove around her, rolled down the driver’s window and shot at her again before speeding away from the scene.
No injuries were reported.
Trip is held in the Oakland County Jail with bond set at $50,000. He’s scheduled to be arraigned in the higher court on April 5.
