Resident reports checks stolen from mailbox

A Bloomfield Township resident recently reported his outgoing mail — all checks —  was stolen from his mailbox outside his home in the 4000 block of Orchard Hill Drive, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Township Police Department, the resident said he placed the items in the mailbox at around 8:15 a.m. on May 24. At 9:30 a.m. that day, he discovered the checks were missing.

The case was turned over to the department’s investigations division, police said.
