Investigators in Lathrup Village are trying to figure out what led to an overnight shooting that injured six people.
The city’s police department posted on Facebook about the shooting, asking for anyone with information to call its detective bureau at 248-663-6031 or email Lt. Zang at mzang@lathrupvillage.org.
Officers had been summoned at 12:20 a.m. Saturday to the 17000 block of Margate Avenue with a report of several injuries after a shooting.
“Officers arrived, and with the assistance of Southfield Police Department were quickly able to secure the scene and render aid to the victims,” Lathrup Village police reported.
“In total, there were six young adults shot. Four of them sustained wounds that were not life-threatening. Two of them were shot multiple times and are in critical condition at a local hospital and are expected to survive.”
There was no immediate word on what the circumstances of the shooting were or on any potential suspect(s).
WDIV reported that victims were at a house party.
The location of the shooting was north of Lincoln Drive between Southfield and Greenfield roads.
