A 59-year-old man accused of breaking into homes throughout metro Detroit was taken into custody June 21 after a home invasion in Farmington, and now faces nine felony charges.
David Alan Hudson was arrested by detectives from the Waterford Police Special Operations Unit and police officers from White Lake, Farmington, Farmington Hills and West Bloomfield following last Friday’s early morning break-in on Drake Road, according to a news release from Waterford Police Lt. Scott Good.
At the arrest, officers recovered property stolen from the Drake Road home as well as two handguns, crack cocaine and burglary tools, the news release states.
A search warrant executed at Hudson’s home turned up property stolen from recent home invasions in Waterford, Troy, Farmington, Milford, Keego Harbor and several other locations, the news release states.

Hudson is charged with home invasion-second degree, possession of burglary tools, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of cocaine and three counts of felony firearm.
The home invasion charge carries the highest penalty — 15 years in prison.

Hudson is held in the Oakland County Jail with bond set at $250,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 3 for a pre-exam conference on July 3 before 47th District Judge James Brady.
As an investigation continues, detectives are reportedly working with other law enforcement agencies to link recovered property to unsolved home invasion cases throughout the area.
