A woman who thought she was meeting a prospective buyer for her iPhone 15 in the parking lot of a Bloomfield Township grocery store ended up the victim of robbery, police say.
The woman posted the phone for sale on Facebook Marketplace. She met the would-be buyer at the Hollywood Market, 1525 S. Opdyke Road, at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 30.
The supposed buyer began to bargain the price down. When she said the price was firm, the “buyer” grabbed the phone and ran with it.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male, late teens to early 20s, about 5 feet 3 inches tall, with short dreads that were tied back.
Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Bloomfield Township police remind the community that its parking lot and lobby can act as a safe exchange zone for this type of sale.
“We encourage anyone selling or buying products from an individual online to utilize this space and to alert our officers of the exchange prior to,” police said in a statement.
