A 41-year-old Pontiac man was stabbed to death Wednesday, officials said, and his 50-year-old neighbor is the alleged killer.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the stabbing happened shortly after 8:15 a.m. outside a residence in the 100 block of Ypsilanti Avenue in Pontiac. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two men are believed to have been arguing with each other before the slaying, the sheriff’s office said. Sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect a short time later, several blocks away near the intersection of Walton Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue.
Detectives are continuing to investigate. Results of the investigation could be turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office as soon as Thursday for charges to be considered.
The Oakland Press will report more on the incident as further information becomes available.
