The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the Pontiac man who was fatally stabbed on Wednesday, allegedly by his neighbor.
The victim was identified as William John Allison, 41.
Allison’s 50-year-old neighbor is accused of killing him and is in custody. Charges have not yet been announced.
The stabbing happened shortly after 8:15 a.m. outside a residence in the 100 block of East Ypsilanti Avenue in Pontiac. Allison was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
An argument between the two men may have escalated to the slaying, the sheriff’s office said. Sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect a short time later, several blocks away near the intersection of Walton Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue.
