A Pontiac man accused of killing his neighbor and raping the neighbor’s wife and young daughter will undergo a psychological evaluation for competency, as ordered by a judge.

At a recent hearing in 50th District Court, Judge Jeremy Bowie referred Timothy Legard for the evaluation, and set a review date for Dec. 12.

Timothy Legard, 50, faces 11 felony charges including first-degree murder, multiple sex crimes, kidnapping and more for the Sept. 18 incident. Wiliam “Bill” Allison was fatally stabbed with a kitchen knife outside his home on East Ypsilanti Avenue in Pontiac that day — allegedly by Legard — and officials assert that Legard then entered the home and sexually assaulted Allison’s wife and 8-year-old daughter.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald has called it “a brutal and horrific attack.” Sheriff Mike Bouchard has described the case as “disgusting on so many levels.”

Legard is held in the Oakland County Jail, denied bond.

To help the surviving victims, a GoFundMe account is collecting donations for the Allison family. Close friend of the family, Rebecca Pearl — who’s organizing the fundraiser — states that Bill Allison was the sole provider for his wife and daughter, and he devoted his life to them. As of Monday afternoon, approximately $20,100 had been pledged toward a $30,000 goal.
