Woman arrested after 4-man fight downtown leaves 1 unconscious
A woman was arrested for interfering with police after a man was knocked unconscious when two other men jumped him near Fifth and Center streets.
Police said another man was with the victim and fought the attackers about 2 a.m. May 12.
Police officers on patrol nearby broke up the fight.
A Taylor woman, 24, “screamed profanities at officers and interfered with them when they were trying to assist the unconscious man,” said Royal Oak police Sgt. Nathan Heppner.
She was arrested and is facing a misdemeanor charge.
Impatient woman at dentist’s office vandalizes computer
Employees at the Dental Works office, 30760 Woodward Ave., called police after a woman patient knocked a desktop computer to the floor Monday.
Police said the woman had come into the office to request x-rays and staff reported she seemed angry.
Staff members were all busy and the woman was advised to wait her turn. She became irate and started screaming at all the staff members, police said.
The woman started to walk out the door to leave but stopped to pushed a computer off a desk, knocking it to the floor and causing damage, police said.
Man blasting loud music in gas station parking lot arrested for cocaine possession
Police were called to the Mobil gas station at 11 Mile and Campbell roads on a noise complaint as a man with a flat tire blared music from his Ford Expedition as he walked around the parking area.
Officers arrived and said the suspect, 45, of Warren pretended he had only been a passenger in the SUV. He told police the owner of the vehicle lived nearby and had left to get some tools to fix the flat tire about 3:40 a.m. Wednesday
“He became loud and irate with officers,” said Royal Oak police Sgt. Nathan Heppner. “He refused to listen to officers and was arrested for disturbing the peace.”
Police soon discovered the suspect was not a passenger but the owner of the vehicle.
Officers searched the SUV and found some suspected crack cocaine on the driver’s side floor board.
Drug charges against the man are pending the results of lab tests on the suspected cocaine.
Man evicted from apartment tries to move back in
A man, 28, evicted from his apartment in the 300 block of East Parent apparently tried to move back in.
The apartment building owner told police the man was evicted and his belongings were set near a Dumpster on May 11.
But when the owner returned Wednesday May 15 he noticed the man’s vehicle in the parking lot.
The owner called police after he went to the apartment and found the door and lock damaged, and some of the man’s belongings moved back in, police said.
Police arrived and gathered some of the belongings that were back in the apartment, including a sledge hammer, pillow, blanket and thermos.
Officers were unable to find the man and are continuing to look for him.
Four cars stolen in neighborhoods
Four cars were reported stolen over a recent five-day period.
The most recent thefts were reported Thursday when a man reported someone had stolen a Honda Civic and an Acura from the street in front of his house in the 100 block of North Edison Ave.
The same day, another vehicle owner reported a Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen from his driveway in the 3500 block of Woodland Avenue.
On May 11, a resident’s 2023 Subaru Outback was stolen from in front of the owner’s house in the 1200 block of Diamond Court.
Purse stolen from senior patient at Corewell Hospital
Someone stole a purse from a woman at Corewell Hospital, 3601 W. 13 Mile Road.
The woman, 78, was taken to the hospital for health reasons. She discovered her purse missing after she was being transferred to a new room, police said.
Police were called. They said none of the staff had seen the woman’s purse.
