Two people were arrested in connection with the death of a six-year-old boy who was found not breathing and who had suffered several physical injuries, Madison Heights police said.
Firefighters and police responded about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, to a mobile home community in the 25000 block of Dequindre Road near 10 Mile Road for a report of an unresponsive boy, police said.
Officials said medics took the boy to a nearby hospital. He was then airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, where he died.
Authorities said they arrested two people in connection with his death. They said they are not releasing further details until the two are formally charged in court.
“This is a tragic incident, and the Madison Heights Police Department will work to bring justice on behalf of this juvenile victim,” police said in a statement.
