A 47-year-old Pontiac woman is likely to face animal neglect charges after more than 37 dogs and cats were removed from her home by officials — who’ve also condemned the residence, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Her name has not yet been released, but officials said the woman had previously been charged in Macomb County in an animal-related case.
Sheriff’s deputies assisted Oakland County Animal Control and Pontiac’s ordinance department workers Friday morning in removing 29 dogs and eight cats from a residence in the 100 block of Argyle Street. The woman had been hoarding the animals, according to the sheriff’s office.
The ordinance department had obtained a court order from 50th District Court to enter the home and take the animals, the sheriff’s office said.
Officials said the animals were "living in abusive and neglectful conditions." The animals were transported to the Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center and are being evaluated by veterinary personnel.

The ordinance department and the city’s building department condemned the home due to several violations, the sheriff’s office said.
An investigation continues, and when it's completed it will be submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office to determine what if any charges will be filed.
The Oakland Press will report further on this case after more information is released.
