A 47-year-old West Bloomfield woman reportedly awakened by officers after she was spotted slumped over in a vehicle outside a Troy store recently had a blood-alcohol concentration of more than twice the legal limit for drivers, police said.
According to the Troy Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven store at 3982 Crooks Rd. shortly after 1:30 a.m. on July 18 on a report that the driver appeared to be slumped over the vehicle’s center console. She woke up when officers knocked on her window, and police said they smelled alcohol while speaking with her.
The woman reportedly performed poorly on sobriety evaluations and then submitted to a preliminary breath test which measured her BAC at .185%, police said. Her vehicle, a Lincoln Nautilus — which was impounded — had two flat tires, police noted.
A subsequent breath test at the police station showed a similar BAC, police said. The case was turned over to the detective bureau.
