A 42-year-old Detroit man is facing two felony charges for allegedly stealing multiple items from a Kohl’s store on John R Road in Troy and for alleged possession of heroin.
According to the Troy Police Department, Renardo Lamarr Brown is accused of shoplifting 24 items in a duffel bag, as observed by a loss prevention officer at around 11 a.m. on July 19. A pat-down at the store’s security office turned up a crack pipe and, while Brown was subsequently being booked at the Troy Police Department, heroin was found in his sock, police said.

The stolen merchandise was valued at around $1,011, police said.
Brown is held in the Oakland County Jail for first-degree retail fraud and possession of a controlled substance – narcotics/cocaine/heroin. Magistrate Cody Ellwanger set bond at $25,000.
Brown’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 1 for a probable cause conference before 52-4 District Judge Maureen McGinnis.
